Bich Tien

Vietnamese food are nowadays easy to come-by. Well, I think it's because we Malaysian are jealous of Vietnamese being tall & slender. Have ever seen a FAT Vietnamese before?? That is why we gobble their food thinking we can be as thin as them.. hehe..

The "scientific" explanation I can give is most of their food has loads of vege aka fibre. So in search of a good Vietnamese diet, I stumbled upon a newly opened Vietnamese shop in Kepong. (Okay, it's not new anymore since I have not been updating my blog that often.. hehe)

Menu with Vietnamese beauty printed on. Too bad there weren't much choices of food, less than 20 types I think.

Pickled garlic with chili~~ I definitely won't touch it cause I hate garlic!!!!

Vietnamese Coffee (Ca Phe Sua) - RM 2.90
Special method of coffee preparation, have to wait quite a while then only can enjoy it :P

Dripping in process~~

Vietnamese Coconut Cracker (Banh Da Dua) - RM 2.00
It attracted my attention when I saw the next table eating this. Presentation-wise, it is a pizza look-alike, the base used is cracker but too bad that it's not crispy enough :(
The topping uses is coconut flesh sprinkled with honey. Tasted sweet but acceptable.... Is this traditional Vietnamese food? Can somebody tell me?

Pork Chop Noodle (Thit Nuong Hu Tieu) - RM 5.90
Just like what I said earlier, lots of beansprout were added. Pardon me cause I already forgot the taste of this dry version of Vietnamese Noodle. It tasted good :)

Fermented Prawn Paste Pork Rice (Thit Xao Mam Ruoc) - RM 4.50
The pork was so flavorful although it's a bit on the salty side. But it really went well with white rice , yummy~~

Restaurant Pan Heong

Since my first bite of "wat dan hor" here, I instantly fell in love with this eatery. However as much as I want to go back whenever I crave for "wat dan hor", the horrendous long queue crowd is definitely a put off *sigh*

Over the years, Pan Heong has mastered the skill of queue waiting.
1st You have to register yourself at a "special" counter.
2nd Customers were given a number plate.
Tip: You cannot simply just wait besides any table and look at the patrons. (I would love to look at them anyway)
3rd Wait until your number is called and you will be guided to your table.
Tip: If you get number 1, that doesn't mean your are 1st. It is just a random number. Go buy 4d.

"Wat Dan Hor" (RM 5.50 - one pax portion)
Thick & flavorful gravy, full of egg taste. There were plenty of cuttle fish, meat slices & veggie too~~ Still drooling over the photo when I wrote this... :-)

Stewed Pork Mee Hoon (RM 15.00 - 2 pax portion)
My 1st time had this, canned Stew Pork a.k.a "Kau Yuk" was used. Quite oily for me but it's very flavorful too~~

Thay also famous for their porridge, steamed fish & mee mamak.

Dear "my wife" Blog,

RE: Leave Application

I am writing on behalf of my wife to to formally inform you (the blog) that my wife has delivered (a mighty beautiful princess) on 6th September 2009 (flashback here). She wish to apply for a leave of absence starting from 6th September 2009.

As you know, she takes great pride in her performance and the quality of her work for you (this blog). To ensure her job responsibilities will be managed during the period that she is away from the office, I am making the following proposal for work coverage, communications during leave and her return to work.

A. Work Coverage

  • Eat delicious food (on hold for at least one month)
  • Take photos of food (you won't be interested)
  • Update blog (haha... not a chance for this month)

B. Communications
  • Windows Live Messenger aka MSN (not this month)
  • Facebook/Friendster (not this month)
  • Forum (not this month)
  • Mobile Phone (errr... it's possible)

Hence I request you to grant my wife a leave period of undefined length. However, she is expected resume work within a month but if there is any problem, I shall give you prior notice of delay.

Niji Sushi

I'm "prohibited" to have raw food for my whole pregnancy period so if I crave for Japanese food there is very less choices for me :( But...... luckily I'm not a fans of sashimi so it's not a big problem for me, hehe ^.^

When I craving for my favorite unagi & I don't want to travel too far, Niji Sushi near my house will be my choice :)

Refillable Green Tea - RM 1.30 / cup

Ebi Tempura Udon - RM 10.90
2 medium size prawn tempura coated with very crispy batter. There were some crispy batter bites in the udon soup also :) Like the texture of the udon, springy~~

Unagi Set - RM 18.90
The set come with salad, miso soup, chawanmushi, white rice & of course a slab of UNAGI. Sprinkled with sesame & the sweet kabayaki sauce make a perfect UNAGI. Can I have 2 slab of this next time? Haha.... XD
